Why two files. The bulk export contains a search term sheet already, and on its own it will get you most of the way. What it does not carry is the split between sales of the advertised SKU and sales of other SKUs — and a term that converts shoppers onto a different product has not proved keyword-to-product fit, however good its ACOS looks. Only the standalone Search Term report has those columns.

The rule sounds obviously right, and it is how most harvest lists get built.

One sale is a coin flip

At a 7% conversion rate, plenty of worthless terms will produce one order inside a month purely by chance. Promote every one and you build a performance campaign out of luck.

Half the list is already yours

The same terms surface month after month. Without checking your existing keywords, a harvest list is mostly a list of things you already run — and uploading it creates duplicates that bid against each other.

ACOS gets used as a filter

Terms with high ACOS get dropped, which is exactly backwards. A converting term with bad ACOS is mispriced, and harvesting it to exact is how you get the bid control to fix it.

Nobody negates the source

Harvest a term to exact and leave it in the auto campaign that found it, and you now pay twice to reach one shopper while the data splits across two rows.

What Makes This Different

The funnel is visible and adjustable

Every criterion is a row with a live count and the number it removed. Turn one off and watch the survivors change. Most tools show you a list and keep the reasoning to themselves; here the filtering is the output, because a list of three candidates is only trustworthy once you can see the three hundred that did not qualify and why.

Orders > 1 does most of the work

It is the least sophisticated criterion and the most important. A single order on a single click carries no information about the next twenty. This one filter typically removes eighty percent of what a naive harvest would recommend, and no amount of clever scoring elsewhere makes up for skipping it.

ACOS is shown and never filters

Deliberately. Bids fix ACOS, and harvesting a term sets a new bid anyway — so filtering on the old one discards keywords for a fault you are in the middle of correcting. High-ACOS candidates are flagged so you know to price them carefully, then left in the list where they belong.

It knows what you already run

Three different answers, not one: already exact (nothing to do), running as broad or phrase (this is the graduation the pipeline exists for), or already negated somewhere — which is the dangerous one, because harvesting a term you have blocked produces a keyword that quietly never serves.

ASINs become product targets

Search term reports contain ASINs as well as words, and they are usually your best-converting rows. Promoted as keyword text they become Entity=Keyword rows that Amazon accepts and never serves. This tool detects them and writes asin="B0..." product targeting rows instead.

The export negates the source too

A harvest is two changes, not one: create the exact keyword, and negate the term in the campaign that found it. Skip the second and you have built the cannibalisation problem yourself. The export writes both, scoped to the source ad group rather than account-wide.

Frequently Asked Questions

Which file do I need?
Either works, and both is better. The bulk file from Bulk operations already contains a search term sheet, and it also brings your existing keywords, your negatives, and the campaign IDs the export needs — so on its own it does almost everything. The Search Term report from Measurement & Reporting adds one thing the bulk sheet lacks: the split between sales of the advertised SKU and sales of other SKUs. Drop them together and the tool works out which is which.
Why is "orders greater than one" the most important filter?
Because a single order tells you almost nothing. At a 7% conversion rate, a term with fifteen clicks has a better than two-in-three chance of producing at least one sale even if it is entirely average — and plenty of below-average terms will manage one by luck alone. Two orders is a low bar that nonetheless removes most of the noise. It is the difference between a keyword you chose and a keyword that happened to you.
Why doesn't it filter on ACOS?
Because ACOS is a bid problem, and you are about to set a new bid. A search term converting well at 90% ACOS inside a broad campaign is usually a term being bought at the wrong price, not a bad term — and moving it to exact with its own calculated bid is the whole point of harvesting. Filter it out and you have discarded a keyword for a fault you were in the middle of fixing. The tool flags high ACOS so you price it carefully, then leaves it in the list.
What is the same-SKU criterion, and why is mine blank?
Amazon reports sales attributed to the exact SKU you advertised separately from sales of other products the shopper bought after clicking. A term where most sales came from other SKUs has not proved that it matches the product you were advertising — it proved the shopper liked your catalogue. Only the standalone Search Term report carries those columns, so if you loaded only the bulk file the column is blank and the criterion passes everything rather than silently failing it.
Why does it want to add negative keywords?
Because harvesting is two changes. Once a term runs as exact in a performance campaign, the auto or broad campaign that discovered it will keep matching the same query — so you bid against yourself, pay twice to reach one shopper, and split the term's data across two rows that both look worse than the truth. The export adds a negative exact in the source ad group only, never account-wide, which stops the competition without blocking the term. Untick the box if you would rather do it by hand.
My search terms include ASINs. Is that normal?
Yes, and they are often your best rows. Shoppers paste ASINs into search, and auto and product-targeting campaigns match against them. The important part is that an ASIN cannot be harvested as keyword text — Amazon will accept the row and it will never serve. This tool detects ASIN-shaped terms and writes them as product targeting expressions instead, which is the entity that actually works.
Where do the suggested bids come from?
RPC × target ACOS. Where the term has enough clicks behind it to trust its own revenue per click, that is used; otherwise the destination ad group's figure is, which is the lowest-risk of the standard starting-bid methods because it is grounded in performance you already have. Where a term's converting clicks came unusually cheap, the bid is flagged — a lucky auction price on a broad campaign is not something to build an exact keyword on.
Can I upload the export straight to Amazon?
Yes. It contains Create rows for the new keywords and product targets in the ad group you picked, plus the matching source negatives, with IDs written as text so 15-digit values survive Excel. Review it first as you should with any bulk upload — particularly the negatives, since those affect campaigns you did not otherwise touch.
Is my data uploaded anywhere?
No. Both files are read by JavaScript in your browser and discarded when you close the tab. There is no server and no account. Load the page, disconnect from the internet, and everything still works.
